Big Dogs in small numbers. For those K9's who are larger in size but may be shyer than ready to face the whole group at a playdate.

Barring blizzard conditions, we'll be out in the yard for 90 minutes or so. Toys, tugs, balls are allowed.

Didn't feel too cold, great conversations with Karen & Joe. Wonderful opportunity for bigger dogs to romp without apprehension.

By three o'clock, ambient temperature should be 16 degrees with a wind chill of -1. I think we'll be out in the yard for "or so" rather than the originally planned 90 minutes, don'tcha think?

It was cold, and I guess it doesn't matter whether the group is small or large for Gideon. Aside from a few quick introductory sniffs, he stayed on an invisible six foot leash. But the other dogs sure seemed to have a good time, and Gideon at least had something interesting to look at. It was cold out, but Karen let us get warmed up in the house when needed.

Nice to see some of the shy dogs come out of their shells...Nina had a blast as always!

The only concern I have is that when owners allow their dog to hump other dogs this is a formula for trouble that that is avoidable. I don't think dogs always see this behavior by another dog as playful but often more as being aggressive in nature. Most dogs don't like it, some don't like it a lot. When the dogs are 60 - 110 pounds once a fight breaks out it is not always easy to stop and a lot of damage can be done in a very short time. I have seen that happen all too often and one time had to accompany a shaken owner to the vet with her golden who almost had his hear ripped all the way off by another dog he tried to mound.

COLD!! But the dogs didn't care. Great for the shy dogs; thanks for coming over.
