After taking a few weeks off, we're ready to go again! As of Wednesday, the forecast is calling for 59degrees and cloudy. Remember to dress in layers - it's chilly when we start, but once we get going, you'll warm up in no time!
With the cooler weather, it's the perfect time to take a walk in the woods. Come for a stroll through the trails at Stony Creek. Our hike is 3.6 miles and takes us about an hour and a half.
We'll meet at the West Branch Picnic Area parking lot B, towards the trail entrance. This is a let turn off the main park road. Map is here: http://www.metroparks...
Admission to the park is $4/car. Annual pass is $20. (Senior pass is $12.)
Dogs must remain on leash in the Metro Park and don't forget bags to pick up after your pooch and water for you both! We'll leave the parking area at 1:10 p.m prompt.
“ Thank you for making this an afternoon walk! I've wanted to attend previously but it was always scheduled so early and I have to drive 40 minutes to get there. This time worked out perfectly for us and we all (dogs most of all) had a great time! ”
“ This was the first meetup that Riley and I were able to attend. I was a little apprehensive at first but everyone was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I work 40+ hours a week and it was great to get out and enjoy some time with my puppy and other proud, dedicated dog-owners! ”
“ It was a beautiful day and the dogs loved it. The trail is nice and long, about 3.5 miles. Lots of leaves made it a little slippery, though. We would like to go back and walk it again. ”
